Pacific Coast Dream MachinesApril
24, 2005, 10am-4pm The gray morning began at the near-empty Target parking lot. Seven of us met there, and within five minutes a rent-a-cop security guard drove up in his truck and tried to shoo us off. Of course, he had his camera out to take pictures of the cars. You can't have it both ways, Mr. Police Academy Flunkee. You either do your job and chase us away or you leave us alone and take your pictures. You can't have it both ways. Anyway, we then had a nice seven DeLorean caravan heading West on the 92 freeway and then north on Highway 1 to the car show. Traffic was light (probably due to the fact that the slightest drizzle fell in the morning - not even enough to mess up our clean cars, though), and we got right in. After a little while, a mystery guest eighth DMC drove in and found us. His name is Ben and he was a mystery guest at last year's show too. I gave him our contact info so hopefully we haven't seen the last of him. As the day went on, the crowds picked up and the weather cleared up. The eight DeLoreans were a big hit - I'd like to especially thank Gary (welcome back!) and Jon (welcome to the group!). Next event: I know Ken's got all the details on the May 22 Dixon car show. You'll find it on the Announcements page. We'll have the Palo Alto Concours in June and hopefully a club cookout sometime in July. The year is off to a great start. Thanks to everyone who's participated so far, and I hope everyone makes it out to our next event. Ryan McCaffrey #10014 Here are some photos from the day by Ken Montgomery and Doug Clark: |
